One-hour informational webinar hosted by Energy Transition Initiative at Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service at UVA; The Virginia Department of Energy; and Diane Cherry Consulting.
Market conditions and Virginia’s policy environment indicate we will see an increased demand for energy storage at all scales, including behind the meter (residential and commercial applications) and in front of the meter (large scale and utility applications). Historically, energy storage development has been relatively rare and infrequent in Virginia, and the new applications and technologies expected may be unfamiliar to policy makers and permitting and inspection agents. This objective of this webinar is to present high-level, introductory, and level-setting information for local staff and officials about the energy storage market and policy landscape and to introduce some of the topics and issues that localities should be aware of and may be starting to think about.
